| 10 August 2008: The report on the library in Newsletter 9 is now out of date. BCRA has leased new premises near to Buxton, and the office at Cromford has closed. The new premises will allow us room to store, sort and catalogue all the archive/"heritage" material that was formerly in storage at Ednaston before it is transferred to the British Geological Survey Library for long-term storage. The "reference library" material will continue to be available at Matlock, with the more valuable "non-display" items at the new premises near Buxton. Items for deposit in the library should be sent to our Great Hucklow address. Well, that's all I know - try as I might I cannot get anyone actually involved in this project to write anything about it - Webmaster. | ||
| 10 August 2008: The BCRA newsletter editor has resigned and no replacement has been found. BCRA Council has decided that paper newsletters will no longer be produced, essentially reversing their earlier decision that newsletters were a necessary part of their communications with members. | ||

| The following report was omitted from newsletter 9 because I forgot: The new UKCCEF constitution was approved by BCRA Council on 18 Nov 2007 following a ballot of members. Council then ruled that clauses 6.b.iv and 6.c should be deleted as they had no legal application to the constitution and could therefore be struck out without requiring a re-ballot. DG | ||
