BCRA > Newsletters / Forum / e-List

BCRA information by email list.bcra.org.uk/mailman/listinfo
You can now sign-up to receive BCRA information by email via the Notices e-List. You can do this on-line, here, or you can send a blank email message to notices-subscribe[at]list.bcra... [etc]. If you need to check whether your name is still on the list, (e.g. if you have changed your email address, or if you are not sure that the subscription process worked) just send another subscription request.
BCRA News Forum bcra.org.uk/forum
News items are posted by Council members to the BCRA News Forum on the BCA web site. The URL bcra.org.uk/forum will redirect you, but if that does not work, try british-caving.org.uk/phpBB2.
Newsletters bcra.org.uk/news/#news
In addition to the items posted to the BCRA News Forum we aim, for 2010, to issue perhaps three or four newsletters on paper, some of which will be as supplements to the BCA newsletter. Paper newsletters can be downloaded from the list below. AGM notices are available on our AGM page. BCA newsletters can be downloaded from the BCA web site, here.

Supplement to BCA newsletter 11, May 2009
Supplement to BCRA AGM notice, August 2009
Supplement to BCA newsletter 12, December 2009

2008 News   Also see BCRA News Forum top of page
13 Dec 2008: Cave & Karst Science Online. 34(2) now available. See info here
17 Nov 2008: BCRA Forum set up on BCA web site at british-caving.org.uk/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=29 for BCRA News Announcements by BCRA Couyncil members, and subsequent discussion.
23 Sept 2008: CREG has been invited to edit a special "Cave Technology" issue of Cave & Karst Science - see call for papers.
10 August 2008:For information about the 2008 AGM please go to agm/2008/index.html
10 August 2008: The report on the library in Newsletter 9 is now out of date. BCRA has leased new premises near to Buxton, and the office at Cromford has closed. The new premises will allow us room to store, sort and catalogue all the archive/"heritage" material that was formerly in storage at Ednaston before it is transferred to the British Geological Survey Library for long-term storage. The "reference library" material will continue to be available at Matlock, with the more valuable "non-display" items at the new premises near Buxton. Items for deposit in the library should be sent to our Great Hucklow address. Well, that's all I know - try as I might I cannot get anyone actually involved in this project to write anything about it - Webmaster.
10 August 2008: The BCRA newsletter editor has resigned and no replacement has been found. BCRA Council has decided that paper newsletters will no longer be produced, essentially reversing their earlier decision that newsletters were a necessary part of their communications with members.
Newsletter 9, May 2008 (The following report was omitted from newsletter 9 because I forgot: The new UKCCEF constitution was approved by BCRA Council on 18 Nov 2007 following a ballot of members. Council then ruled that clauses 6.b.iv and 6.c should be deleted as they had no legal application to the constitution and could therefore be struck out without requiring a re-ballot. DG)

Please note that these newsletters contain information on membership fees, benefits and insurance that is now out-of-date. Additionally, some hyperlinks may not work, as they refer to web pages that have been withdrawn because they have become obsolete.
