Cave Surveying
by Anthony DAY

DAY, Anthony (2002). Cave Surveying [Cave Studies Series 11]. Buxton: British Cave Research Association. £3.50 plus postage. ISBN-0-900265-25-6. 40pp, A5, with diagrams and photos.

A guide to the equipment, techniques and methodology of the BCRA system

Although quite clearly based on Bryan Ellis's An Introduction to Cave Surveying, (which was number 2 in the BCRA Cave Studies Series, and is now out of print), this new publication represents a careful review and thorough updating of the subject, both in the basic approach and the BCRA 'standards'. Information subject to change over time (particularly contact details for software suppliers) will be issued on a free insert, from time to time, and maintained at bcra.org.uk/surveying

The aim of BCRA's Cave Studies Series is to provide an introductory text aimed at the sport caver who has become interested in some other aspect of speleology. The series editor (see Contacting Us) is always willing to consider possible new titles to add to the series, and to discuss details with potential authors.

New editions are currently priced at £5.50. Issues 15-17 are £4.50 and the earlier issues (numbers 3, 5 and 7-14) are available at a discount price of £3.50. (Spring 2010 prices). Postage is £0.50 to UK and £1.00 for overseas overseas orders). See BCRA Publications Sales for further information and a link to the Ordering pages.
